Design

My self portrait was inspired by artist Ryan Holmberg. Layers of different shades of blue were used to provide light, shadow, and details in the face.

Black Glasses is an annual event at Baylor that showcases work from students majoring in Film and Digital Media. The event is a competition for students to show their work to a larger audience and receive feedback.

The Martin Museum of Art is Baylor’s campus art gallery. The inspiration came from the modern artist, Mark Rothko, and his modern minimalist approach and bright paintings.

The Fossil Company celebrated 30 years on the open road and called for entries that would reflect the time period the company was established. The cars and colors were used to create a retro feel. The side and top were created in Illustrator, then pulled into Photoshop to create a 3D preview of the tin.

Absorbent Ink is a company based in Austin, Texas. The O in the logo is shown absorbing the rest of the letters of the logotype. Legal D is a professional court reporting agency based in San Diego, California. This logo is for Baylor Student Government, done through Student Activities. The image is a founder statue displayed on campus in front of one of the main buildings. Programming Planning Institute is an organization on the Baylor campus. The institute teaches Baylor students about program planning and program implementation.

Liz is my personal brand used to portray my minimalistic style and my easy going personality. The gray contrasts with a bright color to bring the eye’s focus back to the logo. The use of squares and rectangles keeps it clean, fresh, and simple.

Legal D is a professional court reporting agency that is based in San Diego, California, that helps clients throughout the city and the southern part of California. A single color was chosen to keep it simple and crisp. The logo is tight and clean with the incorporation of a gavel uniting with the type face to create a powerful message of branding for the company.

Daily Grind is a sampler product that provides a different kind of coffee daily for two weeks. The package for the coffee is in a pill box to keep the different days and brands separated. The labels are on the back so the customer can identify each of the coffee brands. It is for adventurous coffee lovers who want to taste and try different flavors. The colors give an earthy feel of coffee grinds.

All-University Sing is an annual tradition at Baylor. Student organizations each produce an eight minute Broadway act. The pamphlet was created for Baylor Student Activities. The target was to achieve an Art Deco feel to all the Sing marketing components.

The Tex-Mex restaurant, La Guava, takes its name from the fruit. The pink and green colors come from the pink of the guava. The menu is a pamphlet stitch and uses green thread to tie the pages together. The clean layout shows the modern style of the restaurant.

This handmade book titled “Lost Files of the Beatles”showcases each Beatle and highlights little known facts about them. Each Beatle has a different color scheme and typeface chosen based on their personality. Images, type, and content were used to show their unique styles. It is a long stitch binding with a wrap-around closure.
